Our YMCA proudly offers Before / After School Care
for both Y members and non-members.
You may just be looking for a safe place for your child while you work, but child care at the Y focuses on nurturing child development comprehensively by building foundational skills, fostering healthy relationships and boosting self-reliance, all in a safe, happy and supportive environment.
The Y empowers young people to reach their full potential and lead inspired, successful lives.
School-age Childcare refers to programs that provide services for children ages K-5th grade before school, after school, or both. Our fee structure includes childcare for snow-days, teacher work days, school holidays - days the schools are closed and it is safe for the children and our staff to be here - all included in the weekly price.
Our school-age program offers children opportunities to make friends, develop relationships with adult role models, build self-esteem and develop conflict resolution skills. They receive a healthy snack upon arrival and are safe and protected while you work.
We believe the values and skills learned early on are vital building blocks for life. Our enrichment curriculum provides children with the opportunity to explore their unique talents and interests, helping them realize their potential.

Our Y accepts payment for child care through the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS). All VDSS child care eligibility is processed through the local VDSS office at 1100 Greensville County Circle, Emporia, VA 23847.
Financial Assistance: Our YMCA strives to make our programs available to all, regardless of ability to pay. Financial assistance is available to reduce the regular rate for Before and After School Programs if you qualify.
